The team lead by Prof. Massimo Caccia offers a post-doc position related to the
development
of a new DAQ board for the MIMOTERA [a CMOS pixel sensor with high
frame rate and high dynamic range, developed within the FP5-EC project named SUCIMA]. 

The DAQ is being developed by SUPSI (Scuola Universitaria Professionale
della Svizzera Italiana); it is based on an FPGA and it will
provide data  output through a GBit Ethernet. Moreover, a certain degree
of on-board processing will be  implemented, application specific.
The candidate shall join the activities
related to the DAQ commissioning and the use of the system in beam profilometry
(with LARN at Namur) and solar physics experiments (at IRSOL, Locarno).

The ideal candidate should have some experience on CMOS detectors, a
reasonable experience on DAQ systems and possibly on FPGA programming.
And of course he/she shall be interested in our Research program.

The offer is linked to CLAVIUS, an INTERREG project. The job is supposed to last 12
months and the gross salary is about 22
kEUR/year. Renewal for 6 more months is an option within the
framework of our INTERREG project.

The appointment might start as early as March 2010.
